Reports to Manager – Engineering Department

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reports directly to the Manager – Engineering Department.

The position requires         

• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
• Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Communicating with Naval Architects and Engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
• Maintain the quality and on time delivery of assigned jobs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the team of Junior Draftsman and assign jobs as per the project requirement.
• Prepares complete and detailed drawings for comprehensive renovation and new construction projects involving structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, and other systems using advanced computer-aided drafting techniques.
• Preparation of G.A & Detail Engineering drawing related to Marine & Offshore Vessels.
• Undertaking site surveys, both onshore and offshore and preparation of relevant drawings required for the report.
• Taking sufficient detailed and concise information allowing for accurate drawing and reporting.
• Delivery of quality drawings and checking and signing off all drawings produced by Drafting team.
• Preparation and checking of Material Take Off lists (BOM’s) for tender evaluations and checking to ensure scope is in accordance with Drawings produced and vice versa.
• Delivering output related to Engineering jobs on time and meeting required quality standard.
• Proactively exploring and assessing new Software and Hardware.
• Develop, maintain and update databases and files of common specifications, standards and drawing tool.
• Preparation of 3D Modelling  

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

• Education – ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Specialized knowledge- Auto CAD, Inventor, Plant 3D, Photoshop, Rhino, Fusion 360, 3ds max,Solid Works, Microsoft Word & EXCEL
• Familiar with marine, Offshore standards and terminologies.
• Knowledge in preparation of G.A & Detail Engineering drawing related to Marine & Offshore Vessels.
• Professional Certification – NA

Experience preferred – 5-8 Years of relevant experience in Ship / Offshore design or Naval Architectural Consultancy services.
