TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer

REPORTING TO: Head of Offshore Engineering

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are searching for a dependable senior electrical engineer to join our company. The senior electrical engineer’s responsibilities include leading the team, work as a project manager, design the electrical systems in Oil and Gas onshore/offsore projects, MODU, MOPU,analyzing existing electrical systems and making cost-effective improvements, conducting research, designing testing methods, completing quality assurance, inspecting the equipment, running diagnostics, as well as training new hires. You should ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications. To be successful as a senior electrical engineer, you should demonstrate strong leadership abilities and organizational skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead teams of designers and engineers, and provide quality control of completed designs.
• Manage projects to ensure schedule, quality, and budget goals are met
• Prepare electrical design drawings and specifications for Offshore, onshore oil and Gas projects, jack up drilling rigs and shall have sound knowledge of electrical design standards IEEE, NFPA, API, and marine Classification societies ABS, DNV-GL, etc
• Prepare designs for power distribution, standby/emergency power systems (UPS & generators), lighting, lightning protection, operational and monitoring control systems, Power management system, Short circuit calculations, grounding, telecommunications, and fire& Gas alarm conceptual systems
• Document study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events
• Provide technical leadership in client meetings
• Acts as primary client contact
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, bids, tenders for oil and gas projects.
• Maintain and improve engineering skills and techniques
• Plan, schedule, and evaluate projects
• Direct research, development, and design of electrical
• Meet with practitioners to share knowledge
• Develop electrical engineering solutions for building automation systems
• Partner with technicians to assist in the commissioning of building automation systems
• Write and review electrical drawings
• Conduct market research and product evaluations
• Develop and execute project budgets
• Prepare and maintain project schedules and cash flow projections
• Attend industry conferences
• Conduct engineering studies
• Perform mechanical and fire protection engineer tasks
• Conduct safety inspections
• Write reports and present findings
• Achieve business results and company goals

REQUIREMENTS – SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• 10- 12 years in electrical design/construction related fields
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of construction processes
• Knowledge of electrical codes
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in software’s likes ETAP, MS Office, Autocad etc.
