About GMCG India:

GMCG India is a leading maritime engineering and design firm, specializing in ship and floater design. We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Department for our Naval Architecture department to lead our team of naval architects and designers.

Position Overview:

As the Head of Department for our Naval Architecture team, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our team of talented naval architects and designers. You will be responsible for overseeing ship and floater design projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation, and providing technical leadership to the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in naval architecture, ship design, and general floater design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of naval architects and designers.
• Oversee ship and floater design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
• Provide technical expertise in naval architecture, ship design, and floater design.
• Utilize naval architecture software such as GHS, MOSES, and others to optimize designs and analyze performance.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to clients and management.
• Participate in business development activities and assist in proposal preparation.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence within the department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or a related field; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in ship and floater design.
• Strong background in naval architecture, ship design, and general floater design.
• Proficiency in naval architecture software, including GHS and MOSES.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
