Loadout of Wellhead Platform (BDA) Designed by GMCG for SunPetro at Chowgule ShipYard (CCPL), Mangaluru
GMCG is thrilled to share a monumental achievement in the journey of designing and constructing a Wellhead Platform for our esteemed Client SunPetro that is now ready for loadout. The loadout at Chowgule ShipYard (CCPL), Mangaluru, marks a key milestone in the project for the Wellhead Platform BDA. With the jacket and deck designed by GMCG now complete, the platform is set to be loaded out and moved to its installation site.
This achievement reflects GMCG’s commitment to excellence in engineering, design, and collaboration with our trusted contractors and vendors. The platform, designed specifically for the Gulf of Kutch, will be installed in a water depth region of 23-25 meters, catering to a critical need in the region’s oil and gas industry.
Key Design Features of the Wellhead Platform
- Platform Structure: The platform is designed with nine slots to accommodate multiple wellheads, ensuring versatility and long-term performance. This design is suitable for the Gulf of Kutch, where specific water depth conditions of 23-25 meters are prevalent.
- Geotechnical Considerations: The platform structure is carefully analyzed to ensure its suitability to the geotechnical conditions at the installation site. Adjustments to the pile design are anticipated, providing flexibility to meet the site’s unique characteristics.
- Aids for Installation: Installation aids will be added to facilitate the smooth installation process, ensuring that the platform can be securely positioned over the existing well, with minimal disruption to operations.
A Proud Moment for GMCG
This milestone represents a proud moment for GMCG as the design, which has been meticulously developed by our expert team, is now ready for its next phase: installation. Each platform design requires a specific analysis, design documentation, and detailed AFC (Approved For Construction) drawings, and this platform is no exception. GMCG has dedicated extensive resources to ensuring that all the required parameters and specifications are met, and that the project stays on schedule and within budget.
This successful delivery also highlights the leadership and coordination of Offshore Director Santosh Phalle and Project Manager Vishal Shah, whose hands-on involvement was key in guiding the project from concept to execution.
Moving Forward
As the loadout activities progress at the CCPL yard, the Loadout and T&I (Transport and Installation) contractor will work diligently to ensure a smooth and efficient transport process, bringing the platform closer to its final installation site. The team at GMCG remains committed to ensuring the success of this project, and we look forward to continuing our work with all stakeholders to ensure a safe and successful installation.
We are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication of all the team members, contractors, and vendors who have contributed to this project. This successful milestone highlights our collective commitment to engineering excellence and operational success in the energy sector.
